The Commons helps reduce digital distractions during the school day while giving students opportunities to practice healthier, more intentional technology habits. By reducing access to distracting apps and websites during school hours, students have more space to focus on learning, connect with the people around them, and engage in their school community. The Commons is designed to support students in:

  • Staying focused during class by reducing digital distractions.

  • Being more present with teachers, classmates, and friends.

  • Practicing healthier technology habits by creating clear boundaries around phone use during the school day.

  • Building greater independence by keeping their phone with them while learning when and how to use it appropriately. Rather than removing phones entirely, The Commons gives students opportunities to practice managing technology within clear school-defined boundaries.
